If I Had a Handful

As I felt the sun go down
It surely seemed to be
A big premiere red carpet show
That was only meant for me.

The changing colors were added flair
With a wispy cloud or two
Distant thunder as an introduction
Lightning, the camera crew.

But there was no lady moon tonight
It was her time to be away
And as I watched, I realized
The stars had come out to play.

Hello, you boiling diamonds!
So nice to see you shine!
Every dot a light of joy
Perfect in design.

And if I had a handful,
My heart then I would fill
I too would truly sparkle
Even if I just stood still.
